While the reducer is executing, no other reducers can execute and write to the database. No other code can read from the database either. From their official documentation, reducers “cannot perform HTTP requests”. Yeah. No shit. The critical section for all writes to this database is exclusive and serialized, and it executes arbitrary user code. You’d better not be doing HTTP requests in the middle of it.
