Throughout the development of our microservices, we heavily leveraged dependency injection. As part of a .NET web application's startup process, you register the individual types that should be part of the inversion of control (IoC) container. We started self-hosting about a year ago. We’ve got Proxmox Virtual Environment set up on our home server with containers for a Turnkey Linux File Server, a Turnkey Linux Media Server running Jellyfin, photo management using Immich, a Syncthing server, and home automations using Home Assistant.
